Customer Feedback
Customer Comments
We do appreciate feedback on the Bowel Cancer Screening Programme that we offer so that we can continue to improve our service.
Mr Bryan, Stirling
"This is just a thank you for a speedy response to my test submission; it was good to get it so quickly"
Mr Collins, East Yorkshire
"My wife and I are both customers of your Bowel Cancer Screening Test and are impressed with your efficient system of operation"
Mr Griffiths, Staffordshire
"Following the positive result, I had a colonoscopy in mid December 2009 and today my consultant confirmed that she removed three polyps from my intestines. Fortunately all three were pre-cancerous and no further treatment is required, but will have another colonoscopy in 12 months as a matter of routine. Really grateful that I continued with these tests since retiring and not waited for the NHS initiative, which should kick in at age 65. At the end of January will be 68 and no tests have been forthcoming."
Mr Hill, Kent
"Upon receiving your letter of 17 July 2006, in which you informed me that my faecal blood test was positive, I contacted my GP and was referred for a colonoscopy and gastroscopy. The preliminary results confirmed that I have gastritis. During the operation two rectal polyps were found and these were removed and have since been found to be benign. Due to my age I have been put "into the loop" and have a further appointment in 12 months time for a check-up and then a probable follow-up colonoscopy in 2 years time. I am, to say the least, relieved and glad I undertook your test"
(Follow-up: Mr Hill had a check-up in December 2008 and received good news and will have a follow-up colonoscopy in 4 years.)
Mrs Bates, Staffordshire
"Just to say THANK YOU very much for being so prompt with my results on the Bowel Cancer Screening Test. This is the second year I have had the test. I'm sure you will understand when I say that waiting for results is a very anxious time, so when your answer is received so quickly it helps cut that waiting time down and the worry that goes with it. Thanks again for sending the results so quickly."
Mrs Beard-Adams, Essex
"I have today received your reply containing my test results. The whole process has been easy to follow, relatively inexpensive and speedy. Therefore I would like to express my thanks to you for your excellent service."
Mrs Welford, Buckinghamshire
Just wanted to inform you that after your letter of 13th Aug 2009 confirming a positive FOB result I have battled my way through 2 GP's an aggressive Senior Registrar and finally had a colonoscopy on 5th December. I had the result last week which confirms a tubulo-villous adenoma with low grade dysplasia (whatever that means) and I have been referred to a consultant colo-rectal surgeon for trans-anal resection. I would like to thank you for your service and indeed your recommendations in your letter that I persist for further investigations.

Patient UK - Bowel Cancer Video Page
Video supplied by Cancer Research UK as part of their Spot Cancer Early campaign.
Colorectal cancer (also called cancer of the bowel or bowel cancer) is common in the UK. Most cases occur in people over 50. If colorectal cancer is diagnosed at an early stage, there is a good chance of a cure. In general, the more advanced the cancer (the more it has grown and spread), the less chance that treatment will be curative. However, treatment can often slow the progress of the cancer.
